Here Comes the Bride

This weekend I had the opportunity to see my college roommate exchange vows in a beautiful ceremony in Ohio (my hometown). Not only did I have the chance to witness the occasion, she invited me to sing which was a privilege to share with her family and friends on the day.

Leading up to the big day at the rehearsal dinner, we enjoyed an amazing home-cooked meal complete with a fruit plate, chicken parmesan, broccoli and cheese and scalloped potatoes, and an assortment of delectable cheesecakes and cream pies. (Unfortunately in my haste, I forgot to get a picture of the very scrumptious meal which brought me back to my roots).

Following the wedding, my friend held her reception at the Royal American Links, 3300 Miller Paul Road in Galena, Ohio. The stunning banquet hall was complete with our table assignments on luggage tags with various iconic landmarks in the D.C. area where the bride and groom live along with the quick story on how they met – really cute!  (If you’re curious, I was seated at the Federal Reserve).

Prior to the dinner, guests enjoyed snacking on a cheese platter with cubes of mozzarella, swiss, muenster, cheddar and pepper jack, along with garlic cheese bread and fresh vegetables:

For dinner, we enjoyed chicken, mashed red skin potatoes and pork:

The wedding cake was fashioned in the colors of her bridesmaid’s dresses and was super moist.  The couple also did personalized M&Ms (the bride’s favorite I can tell you from all the study sessions in college).

A beautiful day, great menu choices and most importantly, a big congratulations to the happy couple, Hillary & Lee!
